"Between February 1999 and March 2006, 1,023 foreign national criminals who should have been considered for deportation or removal completed their prison sentences and were released without any consideration of deportation or removal action."

Of the criminals, five had been convicted of committing sex offences on children, seven had served time for other sex offences, 57 for violent offences and two for manslaughter.

There were also 41 burglars, 20 drug importers, 54 convicted of assault and 27 of indecent assault."

  1. Shaking my head in total disbelief and horror.  What can I say?  Someone should be brought to task on this and those men should be found if it takes months and then be deported as they should have been right at the beginning – they should have been sent back to prisons in their own countries not been kept here whilst we pay for their keep.  I know they tear up passports (those that have them) so no-one knows which country they are from so they cannot be deported.  I would just send them and argue the matter later!  This whole illegal immigration system needs a good shake up – if they are illegal they should be sent back IMMEDIATELY not wait for months and months in detention centres (at our expense) – the sooner it is seen that they will not be tolerated unless they go through the right channels and become legal BEFORE they get here the sooner this flow will be stemmed.
