Last month we were informed that all emails and computer data from individuals was to be ‘retained’ for several years.
Now I read:The Government is compiling a database to track and store the international travel records of millions of Britons. The intelligence centre will store names, addresses, telephone numbers, seat reservations, travel itineraries and credit card details for all 250 million journeys made in and out of the UK each year. The computerised pattern of every individual’s travel history will be kept for up to 10 years.
This is the level of ‘democracy and human rights’ that we insist certain other countries must attain ! Here is silly old me thinking the cold war [1945 1995] was all about defeating the yoke of russian totalitarianism.

Free country? You must be joking !

  1. So many of us would just like to live in this world without being held under a microscope. But with today technogies that is becoming almost impossible now. I have not watch very many futuristic movies but the ones I did see are so becoming a reality. I think many of those writers have true vision of the future. Look at the show Star Trek when it first came out. And the had those flip open communicators. We all thought at the time who could possible imagine such a device. Now almost 40 years latter the cell phone is a part of everyday life. Well not mine yet….Not ready to be carrying a tracking device on me yet…..

  2. When Orwell\’s 1984 was published it was a condemnation of Russia. In it he portrayed a futuristic society where the state controlled mankind – even down to fighting a war against a perceived enemy whose existance was given credance by state spin doctors. The erosion of personal freedom is not science fiction – it is happening on a daily basis.

  3. It is a fact and nothing can be done to change it now – it is all too late – until the next war of course which will be totally different to any we have known before – then there will be no power just anarchy – which is not far off now!Joined Camelot today – waiting for acceptance – looks interesting so thought I would give it a try 🙂 Put my trip off for two weeks as not happy about the weather at all. Stay warm and safe and speak soon 🙂

  4. 2nd thoughts – we should not really worry as within a few months most of the information will have been left on a train or other places and will disappear never to be seen again! They are good at losing our information 🙂

  5. Just stopping by the say Happy Valentine.. Enjoyed listening to your lovely music here. I will be heading south in a few days hope I will be able to post a blog or two while gone. Take CareCarrie

  6. well,I guess Chinese government has a better record than this., and Britons should all come to join us! lol……..

  7. Down with this Utterly vicious capitalist country! The top totalitarian regime of Great Britain! lol……
